Good Oaks is looking for reliable community Carers to join our friendly care team based around Charfleets RoadCanvey Island Essex,SS8 0SG

Experience is preferred however, we are happy to train those new to the care industry.

Your role will involve supporting those in need to remain living independently in their own homes. Tasks will include administering personal care, support with medications management, socialising, light household duties and simple welfare checks.

Full training will be given as well as on-going training in dementia care, palliative care, safeguarding of vulnerable adults and care standards to name but a few. In addition, Empathy Care offers the right candidates the opportunity to study (QCF Formerly NVQ) in Health and Social Care.

You must have a genuine caring nature, have a desire to enhance the lives of those you care for, be reliable, punctual and display the utmost professionalism at all times.

In return, we offer an hourly rate of between £7.75 and £11.50 and full holiday pay, pro rata to hours worked.

What is the hourly wage?

This depends on your experience and qualifications. We are one of the few care providers that promotes its wages publicly. You can find our pay scales here. We also pay holiday pay on top of the hourly wage. Some companies include this in their advertised wage so it’s always good to ask.

Do you pay mileage?

Yes. We pay mileage up to 35 pence per mile for your travel between all your clients.

What are you looking for in a carer?

Although experience is an advantage, the most important thing for us is having the right attributes to be a good carer. We look for dedicated, caring, reliable and friendly people who will fit in with the ethos of the company.

Do I need my own car?

Yes. Because our clients are based in the community, and not always on public transport routes, we do ask that our carers are able to drive and have access to a car.

Can you guarantee me a certain number of hours?

We understand people need a certain number of hours, so if you do want guaranteed hours we can arrange this, depending on your availability.
